Fourth and Fifth Class have been very busy gardening this term with the Incredible Edibles Programme. With all the dry weather, we have had to water the plants regularly, but we have tried to use rainwater from the water butt whenever possible.

We have learned lots of new terms about gardening, and have enjoyed sharing our new knowledge with some of the younger classes. Junior Infants sowed some beans in their classroom, which we then planted out in the raised beds.

Most of our plants have grown very well. Unfortunately, our strawberries and lettuce weren’t very successful so we will just have to try again next year!
