On Thursday 23rd  November, over 50 local artists arrived with their fabulous paintings, photographs and sculptures to display in our annual art exhibition. There was great excitement as Junior Infants to Sixth Class took turns to visit the exhibition on Friday and choose their favourite pieces.

The opening night was a great success. Many thanks to local ceramicist, Elaine Fallon, who opened the exhibition. We wish her well in her new studio and shop in  Santry Hall Industrial Estate, Dublin 9.

Thank you to all who helped to organise and run this event, especially Mary O’Brien. It is thanks to Mary’s hard work that our art exhibition runs so smoothly each year. A special mention also goes to Stella Downes who set up camp in school all weekend to look after sales. It was great to have her back in Springdale!

Finally, thank you to all who supported this event, especially members of the wider community. 30 pieces were sold over the weekend and in total €2,400 was raised towards picnic benches for our playground.

Well done to Gemma Carr, lucky winner of a beautiful painting by Mary O’Brien.
