There was great excitement today as the Student Council were set the very important task of tasting a selection of ‘Hot School Meals’.
We were joined by Lorraine from Carambola who explained how the scheme will operate and shared a selection of meals from the extensive Carambola menu.
The favourites selected from today’s options included the following:
- Chicken Paella
- Pasta and Tomato Mozzarella
- Carbonara
- Chicken Curry
- Chicken Gravy & Mash
- Beef Chilli Wedges
Following their tasting session, the Student Council reported that, ‘Everything is delicious!’
One member was very impressed with the Chicken Breast Spice Bag, ‘The Chicken Breast Spice Bag is really good!’ (and as reported by Lorraine, very healthy!).
The children were surprised by how warm the meals were when delivered, ‘It’s really warm compared to a school sandwich- it tastes like it has just been made.’ The gluten free pasta was described as delicious.
Overall, the Student Council were very impressed by the number of options and could not fault any of the dishes.
We are really looking forward to the Hot School Meals being introduced towards the end of April.
