The excitement of the World Cup 2026 arrived in Springdale as 4th Class staged their very own spectacular opening ceremony. A number of classes gathered to watch as the pupils proudly represented countries from across the globe, introducing nations from different continents and celebrating the spirit of the tournament.

Each pupil modelled a personally designed t-shirt inspired by their chosen country. Sadly, there were no Irish jerseys in sight this time!

In interviews with Mr. O’Connor, the pupils shared facts about their selected countries and gave their predictions on their teams’ chances of lifting the World Cup trophy. Their enthusiasm and knowledge impressed the audience.

Well done to 4th Class for a fantastic performance—you certainly entertained the crowd and got the World Cup celebrations off to a brilliant start!
