Eight Springdalers headed off early this morning to participate in the Féile Fichille Chess Tournament in St. George’s National School.
Fifty chess boards set up in one hall greeted us as we arrived. However, our 4th, 5th & 6th Class pupils took it all in their stride and enjoyed the day away from the classroom and a chance to put their chess skills to the test, playing six chess games each.
They all performed really well, some even remaining unbeaten by the end of the day.
We look forward to hearing the final scores over the coming days. Well done to all our participants!
