Special Visitors in 5th & 6th

Ms. Jacob brought frogspawn from Wexford. She brought the frogspawn in for educational purposes. The next day Ms. Jacob got a permit to bring the frogspawn home on weekends and holidays. The class was very excited. During iPad time we researched about frogs and their habitats and what they need to grow and develop. We […]

Making the cut for the Little Princess Trust

The Little Princess Trust (LPT) provides free real hair wigs to children and young people up to 24 years, who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment or other conditions.  Their greatest need is for hair donations that are 16″ or longer. The LPT has been closed to receiving hair donations over the past […]

Rock your Socks!

There was great excitement in school today as everyone arrived sporting their odd socks to mark World Down Syndrome Day which will be celebrated this Sunday, 21st March. Many thanks to everyone who supported this event. So far we have raised €360! You can watch our video to see how the day went: Springdalers Rock […]

Ar Ais ar Scoil

It was a happy day for our pupils from Junior Infants to Second Class as they returned to school on Monday morning.  Armed with boxes and schoolbags, they skipped through the gate with smiles all round. It is great they made it back in time to see the first signs of spring appear in our […]

Stay Safe Online

Last week we celebrated Internet Safety Week. Pupils from all classes learnt how to keep safe while online. This is especially important this year as we all have become so dependent on the internet while we learn remotely. Messages in the posters designed by our Springdalers sum up all they have learnt:

Scavenger Hunt

Well done to everyone who completed the PTA Scavenger Hunt. Our Springdalers had great fun and were able to bring along their siblings, mums and dads to help them out. Thank you to the PTA for organising the Scavenger Hunt and thank you to everyone who has shared their photos so far:

Virtual Pet Parade

Over the last couple of weeks there have been a few guest appearances by all sorts of pets on Zoom. As pets are so popular in Springdale, I decided to invite our pupils, their pets and the staff to join our first ever Virtual Pet Parade. The response was fantastic with over 100 participants. Thank […]

Christmas in Springdale

One of our favourite events at this time of the year is our Annual Christmas Carol Service. Unfortunately this year we couldn’t sing indoors or invite parents and friends in to join our celebration. However, thanks to Greg Corcoran, we can share a very special recording of  Christmas in Springdale. We hope you enjoy it […]

And the winner is…..

While we couldn’t invite everyone to join us for this year’s Annual Christmas Raffle,  there was still great excitement while the tickets were drawn on camera and the winners announced across the school via Zoom. Thank you to the PTA who donated prizes and to the members who joined us on the day. Many thanks […]
